Who We Are

Mary Ellen Doran-Quine is president and co-founder of SpeechWorks Associates
(founding partner Dr. Barbara Reiner retired in 2000). Dr. Doran-Quine has
worked in the communications skills training field with a wide range of
clients, including association directors, business executives, actors, broadcasters,
newspaper editors, lawyers, engineers and sales managers. She specializes
in showing clients how to make effective business presentations, how to
reduce speech anxiety, and how to improve voice and diction quality, and
has more than 35 years of experience in speech and language communications.
Dr. Doran-Quine has taught in universities at the graduate and undergraduate level, and has been a guest researcher on communication disorders at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland. She holds a doctorate in speech and language pathology from Kent State University and lives in Reston, Virginia.
